Bride Valley Archers

The Club runs World Archery Proficiency Awards (metal badges).  Each level has 3 sections requiring Performance, Skills and Knowledge/Know-how.

RED FEATHER AWARD:

Performance: 12 hits out of 15 at 6 metres on a 40cm face.

Skills: correct foot position and stance, safe and proper arrow loading.

Knowledge: bow safety, arrow loading safety, safe arrow collection, bow assembly.

 

GOLD FEATHER AWARD:

Performance: 12 hits out of 15 at 8 metres on a 40cm face.

Skills: correct posture before drawing and at end of the draw.

Knowledge: bow bracing, shooting direction, safety and etiquette on the shooting line.

 

Once the Feather Awards have been passed archers can progress through Arrow Awards (white, black, blue, red and gold).

 

WHITE ARROW AWARD:

Performance: score of 115+ at 10m (80cm face)

Skills: correct technique raising the bow

Knowledge: scoring

 

More than 260 juniors have passed the WA Red Feather and 100 the Gold Feather Award to date.
